Cookies and local storage

1. What this page describes

This page explains storage technologies in the information version of cafewien.es. Cookies and localStorage are different: a cookie can accompany requests to a server, while localStorage keeps information in the browser without automatically sending it with every request.

The application includes a language preference. This version’s code contains no advertising tags, social media pixels or third-party visitor analytics. Hosting logs are a separate type of processing explained in the Privacy policy.

Purpose

Only to remember the language chosen by the visitor.

When stored

When the language selector on the main website is used. German is shown if there is no saved choice.

Duration

No programmed automatic expiry: until the choice is changed, site data are cleared or the browser removes them.

Sharing

This function does not send the value to third parties or use it for profiling.

3. Why this preference needs no acceptance button

When the visitor chooses the language and storage is used only to remember that choice, the AEPD considers it a preference that may be exempt from consent. No acceptance banner is presented for this specific use.

This is not a general permission to add other technologies. If non-exempt cookies or storage are introduced, the necessary information and consent must be provided before using them. References: Article 22.2 of Spain’s LSSI and the AEPD cookie guide.

4. Change or delete the preference

To change it, use DE, ES or EN on the main website. To delete it, clear the data for cafewien.es in your browser, including local storage. German will be the initial language on a later visit without a saved preference.

If your browser blocks storage, you can still choose a language during your visit, but it may not be remembered afterwards.

5. Links and hosting

Instagram and Google Maps are provided as links, not embedded content. Opening them may cause the destination service to apply its own cookies and policies. Consult that service for details.

The absence of tracking cookies in the application does not make a connection anonymous: Hostinger receives the technical data needed to serve files. This page does not describe cookies used when signing in to Hostinger’s private panel or visiting other websites.
